Jennifer Pritchard Couchman is one of Lancashire’s finest designers, with a specialism in creating beautiful bespoke wedding dresses. She has been working in the bridal industry for over 20 years, and works out of her home studio in Lancaster, England. She now brings her skills as an illustrator together with her love of beautiful gowns in creating Sketch My Dress, a unique and bespoke artwork for each individual client.
Jennifer works closely with each bride, on every step of the creative process, At the first design meeting, you can view your personally designed illustrations, and choose from the vast choices of fabrics, silks and laces which we source from a number of british silk and lace merchants. At your second appointment, you will try on a full toile wedding gown of your design, which is made in a soft cotton fabric, so Jennifer can pin, plan your gowns construction seams and cut to perfection. This creates a superior fit for the client. This fitting also enables the bride to see the silhouette and cut of the gown before it is handmade personally for you.
Your bespoke gown is then created for you in the studio. This design process creates a one-off bridal gown that is totally unique, with a flawless fit and finished to perfection. The gown construction process usually requires 3 gown fittings.
Jennifer’s work has been featured in numerous bridal magazines and websites, and commissions such as ‘The Word Dress’ have received coverage across the globe, applauded for her stunning dress created using book pages, which was a collaboration with Lancaster’s Litfest organisation.
