Life changing lockdown!

Like everybody else, my life has changed since March 2020, and the beginning of coronavirus. My biggest change has been my wedding design business, which rapidly disappeared like most wedding industry companies, as my brides moved their big days back.

I took a decision to move adapt and create a face covering company, which rapidly grew with the demand after government announcements to cover your face in public places. Having online shops like Etsy and Folksy are wonderful to show off your products, hand made goods made in the UK. I have since sold over 4,000 face masks all over the world!

I was also lucky that in 2019 I set up sketchmydress.co.uk to sell bespoke illustrations of wedding dresses, and had established a small e-commerce website. Assuming this was a short term thing, I kept Sketch My Dress as the name, and here we are now, nearly a year on from the beginning of our lockdown, and in May, my sketchmydress face coverings will be one year old!

If I’m absolutely honest, I love my new job, I love the Mail order angle of the business and selling online. This year, I will be branching out and adding more new products to our face covering and illustration business. With new ranges including luxury children’s dolls gowns and gifts for special occasions.

I’m also developing new Mail order bridal separates and accessories so customers can basically pick and chose their wedding look, all available online.
